Mission: The Law Enforcement Chaplaincy-Sacramento primary objectives are to support law enforcement families in professional and personal crisis and serve the community of the Greater Sacramento Region in times of crisis and tragedies."

Sacramento’s Law Enforcement Departments have one of the best resources in this town: Law Enforcement Chaplaincy-Sacramento. L.E.C.S. provides “round the clock” availability, accessibility, & confidentiality. Our continued support to law enforcement departments, personnel and their families include both proactive and reactive services, such as but not limited to:

 

• Serving as the Chaplain and Pastoral Care Provider for all employees and immediate family members;

• Developing relationships and maintaining contact with all personnel through weekly worksite visits to the facilities;

• Making hospital and home visits to employees and family members;

• Officiating at weddings, including assistance in planning the ceremony, as well as pre-martial confidential pastoral discussions;

• Performing funerals, including assistance with grief management, planning the funeral service, and supporting family members after the funeral;

• Referring employees and family members with severe or long-term needs (i.e. spouse abuse, incest, etc) to specializes types of assistance;

• Acting as a member of a “Death Notification Team” of the Agency for any employee killed in a job-related accident or who died of natural causes while on the job;

• Participating in new employee orientation to explain the Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Program;

• Representing the Agency to clients/customers where it would be appropriate to have the Agency Chaplain involved (i.e. serious illness, accidents, and funerals), if requested;

• Participate with the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing Team;

• Work closely with Peer Support and Employee Assistance Programs

Every day news accounts of our economy woes, increased criminal activity, and seeing a society and systems which are “broken” reinforces the value of the Law Enforcement Chaplaincy-Sacramento (LEC-S) and the excellent work the Chaplains do. We count it a privilege to come alongside our officers to assist in traumas and crisis you may hear about or read in the newspaper, such as but not limited to:

 

• Crisis intervention at emergency scenes;

• Participating in Town Halls after a tragedy;

• Search and Rescue assistance in the field;

• Follow-up services to families;

• Funeral planning and officiating;

• Evacuation Scene support

 

Sacramento’s Churches have one of the best resources in this town: Law Enforcement Chaplaincy-Sacramento. L.E.C.S. supports Churches by providing trainings, such as but not limited to:

 

• Safe & Security in the Sanctuary;

• Church and Disaster Preparedness;

• Faith In Crisis Training;

• Providing 24 hour crisis response for the church

 

Sacramento’s Businesses have one of the best resources in this town: Law Enforcement Chaplaincy-Sacramento. L.E.C.S. provides assistance to employees, their families, customers, and suppliers a level of care, concern, and compassion. The L.E.C.S. services compliment and extends the Human Resource Department’s common goal of taking care of company’s greatest asset----employees, and their loved ones! Trainings offered, but not limited to:

 

• Stress Management in the Workplace;

• Workplace Violence-what to do when problems at home come to work;

• Disaster Preparedness for Businesses;

• Grief and Trauma Grief Sessions

California Department of Education, State Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell, has endorsed our Chaplaincy and the fine work our School Campus Chaplains provide at campuses in Sacramento County School Districts. We offer training for students, parents, and administration in. but not limited to;

 

• High School Peer Support;

• radKIDS program from ages 3 ½ to 12 ( a child and family centered safety education program that emphasizes essential decision-making skills as well as physical resistance options to escape violence;

• Family Assistance Center (evacuations, disasters, active shooters).
