Who are the Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Sacramento (LECS) Chaplains and who do they support?
The Law Enforcement Chaplaincy Sacramento (LECS) is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization which began in 1977 to provide a secular purpose by attending to the post-trauma reactions on scene, 24-7-365 throughout Sacramento County. LECS serves 15 different law enforcement agencies, 16 local school districts, customer-based retail businesses and various churches. LECS provides families with immediate practical guidance, and valuable resources of what happens next after their loss. LECS Chaplains serve law enforcement officers, their families, and our community members by offering accurate information, compassionate care, and helpful resources which serve all community members regardless of race, culture, nationality, or religion. law enforcement, community leaders, administrators, and corporate executives trust the integrity of this program to consistently provide the highest level of service to their departments.

How can you get involved with LECS?

LECS is dependent upon the support of the community (i.e. individuals, businesses, and churches). Come join our Chaplain Team by attending one of our many training classes, plan to attend our Law Enforcement Chaplain Academy, or become an ambassador. The LECS Ambassador Volunteer Program's mission is to develop trusting relationships between law enforcement personnel and Law Enforcement Chaplains in preparation for times of crisis and tragedy. This is a multi-agency program that will accomplish its mission through dedicated professionals that have a passion for what they do.

To reach these goals, Ambassadors are committed to:

  • Creating an integrated relationship between law enforcement and the chaplaincy.
  • Providing valued input into the development of new chaplains.
  • Providing a welcoming atmosphere for chaplains in the workplace.
  • Proactively sharing positive information about the chaplaincy with others within law enforcement.
  • Acting as positive role models within their teams.
